M3 principal, graphic designer John L. Moore began his career as a book cover designer in New York, working for such publishers as Bantam, Avon and New American Library, (Signet Books). He has designed book jackets for over 70 mass market paperback books and trade books. He continues to work in publishing today, using digital tools to his bring photo-illustration and design skills together into a new realm of book cover design.
In his book jacket designs, he uses original stock images, drawing from an archive of thirty thousand photographs made during a graphic design and photography career spanning nearly 3 decades. He also uses imagery from his own stock subscription services with the costs being absorbed in one competitive, book jacket design fee. This saves his clients on the time and costs involved in searching for and securing the rights to stock imagery from outside sources.
